EdgeRed built a Snowflake-native agentic analytics platform for a global software company – giving analysts and executives the ability to query billions of rows of user data in plain English, routed automatically to the right model, with governed, accurate answers at scale.

## The Challenge

A major global software company needed analysts and executives to query large, complex user datasets without writing SQL or navigating sprawling reports. The challenge wasn’t just access — it was accuracy at scale, with underlying tables running into billions of rows and a user base ranging from executives needing high-level KPIs to analysts asking highly granular, product-specific questions.

## Technology Used

- **Snowflake** — cloud data platform; semantic layer, business logic, and metric definitions hosted natively  
- **Snowflake Cortex Analyst** — conversational AI interface enabling plain English querying against a governed semantic model  
- **Power BI** — legacy reporting layer; dozens of reports decommissioned upon deployment

## What We Built

EdgeRed designed and built a Snowflake-native agentic analytics platform — letting analysts and executives query complex user data in plain English, automatically routed to the right model.

- **Dual-agent architecture**  
An executive KPI agent and a granular product-level agent - covering the full range of business questions without requiring users to know which model to ask.  
- **Semantic data modelling**  
Two semantic models built over billions of rows, delivering consistent, accurate answers at scale - with a gold layer table mirroring core executive dashboard metrics.  
- **Orchestration & safeguards**  
Intelligent routing, refusal logic and provenance surfacing - so users get targeted, trustworthy answers without knowing which model is handling their query.  
- **Evaluation framework**  
A comprehensive eval suite with a Streamlit dashboard for tracking SQL quality, accuracy, cost and answer relevance across runs.

## The Outcome

Delivered in under three months. What started as a challenge of accuracy at scale – billions of rows, two very different user personas, and no room for inconsistent answers – became a single conversational interface that handles everything from executive KPI queries to granular product-level analysis, without a single SQL query written.
